<aside> ✅ Oli provided me a program that focused on improving my shoulder health and strength. I thought the focus on strengthening the shoulders and rotator cuff did really help both the rehab of a pec injury whilst also significantly increasing my range of motion in the shoulders. Why certain exercises were used was explained clearly to develop my understanding of why they were important for my rehab. I also found the process of learning the programme simple thanks to the training videos provided.

<aside> ✅ My local gym held a deadlifting competition which involved liftng a car for maximal reps within 60 seconds. Since I’ve rarely deadlifted over the last year, I approached Oli for a bit of help and advice on how to approach it as there was only about 3 weeks preparation time. Oli provided some great detail on what to train and why that would help with this particular event, the car weighed 400kg but with the pivot points it was more like 150kg. The training plan surprisingly involved little deadlifting but was good preparation, I’m 51 and I completed 28 reps in the 60s and finished joint second to a much younger competitor. The weight actually felt a lot lighter than 150kg and I put that down to the advice Oli provided on how to prepare for the event.

<aside> ✅ After getting back into the gym and training for 9/10 months, I found myself not making the same level of progress I had at the start. It was possible that I began to slack off a bit, not pushing myself as hard, and got a bit bored of the workouts I was doing.
I followed the Advanced GBC program which included some of my favourite exercises and included new things to try out, which were challenging but also fun. I noticed my strength began to increase again. I also realised the intensity was much harder than the workouts I did on my own.
If you need a fresh start, a new perspective on weight training, or just want to start things off right. I would highly recommend the Choose health method.
